There is so much to enjoy in our city along the Lakeshore:

Grand Haven Boardwalk

The Boardwalk stretches for two and a half miles of the Grand Haven Harbor, extending from the Grand Haven Lighthouse to the City Marina.

Strolling down its path, you will come across Chinook Pier, the Harbor Steamer, the Waterfront Stadium, restaurants, shops, ice cream stands, the Grand Haven State Park and the Grand Haven Coast Guard Station.

Grand Haven Lighthouse

The Grand Haven Lighthouse was constructed in 1839, and stands on the South Side of the mouth of the Grand River. The Pier was extended in 1905. A catwalk was added to connect the pierhead light to the inner light and then to the mainland.

The outer Pierhead is the original fog signal building, which was built in 1875. It was moved to the end of the breakwater in 1905 after the pier had been extended several times.

The U.S. Coast Guard Station-Grand Haven is responsible for maintaining this light and 15 lighthouses on the West Michigan lakeshore.
